Ever like just lay on your bed eating frosted flakes out of the box and wish someone would just tell you what to do because it just takes too much energy to look up stuff, like, online and in papers?

This scared the jesus right outta me

I don't know if it has to do with growing up in the bible belt, but radical christianity scares the bejesus out of me. I am all for religion keeping people straight - but to create an army of little brainwashed children is just wrong.
Make no mistake: extremist evangelical ministries have their sights set on America's youth. As this alternately bizarre, terrifying, and hilarious documentary from directors Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady outlines in detail, many children in the US are being indoctrinated into a proselytizing, militant perversion of biblical morality that skirts the underlying elements of Christian faith. Jesus Camp follows three particularly extreme cases: Levi, a Ted Haggard in the making; Rachel, a ten-year-old female Ned Flanders; and Tory, a dancer who is bound for biblical burnout. The camera follows each with fascination and horror as they encounter the rigors of Pastor Becky Fischer's madrasah-cum-summer Bible camp.

Look at this kids eyes - I need a stiff drink..........

If I had $250.00

I would spend it on this uber-cool laptop bag. I am so into the 70's Steve Nicks/ Little House on the Prarie look right now. These bags are one of a kind - they will make it in the color and pattern of your choice. The padded pocket has a velcro strap to hold in your notebook and another not padded for your cords. Lots of interior space for books, papers, or even clothes if combined as an overnighter. Outside pocket for cell and keys. The small will hold up to a 14” ibook, the large a 17” Power Book. Perfect !

Viridiana

Dennis Hopper screens Viridiana
at Skirball Cultural Center - LA
Tuesday, September 19 at 7:30 PM
U.S.$6.00-U.S.$10.00

The Skirball and the American Film Institute continue a monthly series of conversations with film’s greatest producers, directors, writers, actors, and other motion-picture artists. Acclaimed guests screen work they credit with inspiring their art and discuss the great films and film artists who have influenced their careers.

The star of such cinematic gems as Blue Velvet and Apocalypse Now, Dennis Hopper is perhaps best known for his 1969 directorial debut, Easy Rider. A multitalented artist, he is also a celebrated photographer and painter. Hopper has chosen to screen the Luis Buñuel classic Viridiana, a controversial work about a virtuous young nun and the uncle determined to corrupt her. (1961, 90 min. May I just say ......

I have to say that I was sorely disappointed by the Bansky show downtown this past weekend. After waiting in line for over an hour with hundreds of stupid hipsters in brown Levis stay-pressed pants, we were ushered into a sweltering warehouse that housed crooked pieces of street graffiti and to my dismay a live elephant standing smack in the middle of everything.

As all of you may know - I am SO AGAINST using animals for art or decorations !!!! GRRRRRRR...... I started taking pictures and surveying the area for the animal handler. I saw that the Los Angeles Animal Services Department was already there , and my bristles started to lay down. If Bansky is trying to teach the public to fight consumerism, capitalism and to create more awareness for poverty and hunger - Why does he not care for animal welfare?

I do not support this type of thing - and so now - I do not support Bansky art.
He can kiss my brown stay-pressed arse !

    That's just what I need

I am in love with these designs. Designer Kimberly Murray starts each project by first creating retro-inspired digital illustrations of animals, flowers & other characters. When satisfied with the design, she re-creates the illustration in colorful felt and hand appliques each original patch to the pillow or clothing item of choice.

This little whale pillow will be my first purchase. Look online here for other characters.
